Sujatha Mohan, a distinguished Bharatanatyam artist and educator, has dedicated her life to the preservation and teaching of this classical art form. With over three decades of experience, she currently serves as an Associate Professor and Research Supervisor at Vel’s University, VISTAS, and as an Assistant Professor at the University of Silicon Andhra, California. Her extensive academic journey includes her tenure as Head of the Department of Natya at Dr. MGR Janaki College, Chennai, where she guided both undergraduate and postgraduate students for over 16 years. Sujatha Mohan has also contributed as a guest faculty member at SASTRA University, working under the esteemed Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam, and previously taught at Nrithyodaya, one of Chennai’s premier institutions for Bharatanatyam. Since 1997, she has been the Artistic Director of Padmashree Nrithyalaya, where she continues to inspire and mentor aspiring dancers. Her deep commitment to dance education extends to various schools across Chennai, where she has been a dedicated teacher since 1993.
